To distinguish from classics, Imperial marked their 1960s-70s reissues with a molded IG (Imperial Glass) mark. This one is marked IG, signifying 1960s to 1970s production.
When Lenox purchased the company in 1972, they added an L (LIG). In 1981, Arthur Lorch added an A, creating the ALIG mark.
Imperial Carnival Glass, produced by the Imperial Glass Company of Bellaire, Ohio, started around 1908. Early pieces often featured "Rubigold" (marigold), while later 1960s/70s productions introduced a wider, more vibrant palette, including Smoke, Helios Green, Sunset Ruby (red), Azure Blue (ice blue), Cobalt, and Amber.
